Admission Process for MMS (Mumbai University)

1. Eligibility Criteria In order to seek admission to MMS degree program candidate have to fulfill Educational Requirements as well as Entrance Test requirements, as specified below

(A) Educational Qualifications:

Passed with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate* or equivalent CGPA ( 45% in case of candidates of backward class categories and Persons With Disability belonging to Maharashtra State only) in any Bachelor’s degree awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 of minimum three years duration in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. OR Appeared** for the final year examination of any Bachelor’s degree to be awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 of minimum three years duration in any discipline recognised by the Association of Indian Universities, or an equivalent qualification recognized bythe Ministry of HRD, Government of India. Such candidates can be considered for provisional admission subject to passing the Degree exam with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate* or equivalent CGPA (45% in case of candidates of backward class categories and Persons With Disability belonging to Maharashtra State only)


(B) Entrance Test Requirements:
  1. Appeared for GMAT (conducted by GMAC, USA)/ CAT (conducted by IIMs)/ MAT(conducted by AIMA)/ ATMA(conducted by AIMS)/XAT (conducted by XLRI) / CMAT for the respective year OR
  2. Appeared for MAH‐MBA/MMS‐CET for the respective year OR
  3. Appeared for CET conducted by the agency (including Association of all colleges of a particular type in the State) approved by Pravesh Niyantran Samiti, Bandra (E), Mumbai‐51 for the academic year

(C) Eligibility Criteria for admission against Institute Level Seats:
  1. Candidate should be an Indian National and should possess basic qualification as specified above AND
  2. Appeared for GMAT (conducted by GMAC, USA)/ CAT (conducted by IIMs)/ MAT(conducted by AIMA)/ ATMA(conducted by AIMS)/XAT (conducted by XLRI) / CMAT for the respective year OR
  3. Appeared for MAH‐MBA/MMS‐CET 2014 for the respective year OR
  4. Appeared for CET conducted by the agency (including Association of all colleges of a particular type in the State) approved by Pravesh Niyantran Samiti, Bandra (E), Mumbai‐51 for the academic year

2.Selection basis and Selection Procedure adopted for admission through CAP:

(A). Assignment of merit number for all students registered for CAP:
  1. Maharashtra State Seats Admission through Centralised admission process (CAP) based on a State level Merit Number assigned based on the percentile obtained in MAH-MBA/MMS CET for the respective year .
  2. All India Seats Admission through Centralised admission process (CAP) where each All India candidate who has appeared in CAT 2014 (conducted by IIMs)/CMAT (Conducted by AICTE) / GMAT (conducted by GMAC, USA)/ MAT/ XAT (conducted by XLRI)/ ATMA (conducted by AIMS)/ MAH-MBA/MMS-CET for the respective year will be assigned a State level merit number on the basis of percentile mentioned on the score card.

(B). CAP round :
  1. For the academic year, the Competent Authority shall conduct total three (3) rounds of Centralized Admission. The CAP shall consist of first two (2) rounds by Centralized Allotment wherein eligible candidates will fill separate Online Option forms for respective rounds. Third round of CAP shall be conducted by way of counseling only for the eligible Maharashtra State candidates.
